Rutland Town is not to be mistaken for the City of Rutland, a separately incorporated entity. Nor is it to be confused with West Rutland, which is its own town, too.  Rutland Town’s population is significantly lower than that of the city, but it’s proximity to the downtown of the city gives it convenient access to all of the shopping and nightlife entertainment and activities.
