Rutland Town is not to be mistaken for the City of Rutland, a separately incorporated entity. Nor is it to be confused with West Rutland, which is its own town, too. Rutland Town’s population is significantly lower than that of the city, but it’s proximity to the downtown of the city gives it convenient access to all of the shopping and nightlife entertainment and activities. Vermont real estate has the best of Vermont skiing just down the road. Popular ski resorts Killington resort and Pico Ski Resort are just minutes away. Okemo Mountain Resort, Stratton Mountain Ski Resort, Magic Mountain Ski Resort, Bromley Mountain Ski Resort, and Suicide Six Ski Area are all under an hour’s drive away.
